Love Is My Velocity

The Tigers & Stina Split 7″

LIMV’s fifth split 7 inch was released in 2008 and features tracks from Perth music pillars Stina and the Tigers. The Tigers contribution, Now That I’m Old, Whatever Will I Do With My Whimsical Hardcore Tattoos, is a cracking track that deserves its awesome title; we love Stina so much we decided to release double the love – Apple of Mine and Only Two.

Now That I’m Old Whatever Shall I Do With My Whimsical Hardcore Tattoos shows The Tigers in the jokier, experimental mode that has long been their trademark, the title phrase adorning the end of an otherwise instrumental, pulsating rock piece. Stina’s two contributions, Apple of Mine and Only Two touch lightly upon the melodic themes and arrangements that form their skeletons but together show Stina’s virtuosic composition and laptop mixed with synth instrumentation. These are two of the most exciting music artists operating in Perth, both bringing to bear, in different concentrations, composites of rock, pop and avant-garde that are both intelligent and playful. While they may sound different, in fact they reside on the same conceptual street.

The 7″ single also features beautiful artwork by Perth artist Cally Bridges.

Now available in stores, from our website shop, and for those of you who thumb your nose at vinyl, from Itunes and Emusic.com.
