The Burton Cool Suit – ‘You Can’t Fight City Hall’ CD
Love Is My Velocity’s second full length release follows in neat alphabetical order from Bamodi’s debut – introducing The Burton Cool Suit. Writers of killer offbeat pop tunes with huge garage beats, Burton’s live shows demonstrates their easy comradeship and huge multi-layered sounds.
Formed from the ashes of Turnstyle, The Frantics and the million and one bands that drummer Adrian MacMillan has been in, BCS released a self-titled album in 2005. With their new album, pop culture references sit side by side with more personal stories of everyday life soundtracked with Adem K’s steady vocals. ‘Swampi Swami’, ‘SQ’ and ‘I Get Out Of Breath’ bring the garage influence to the forefront, whilst both the title track and ‘Let It Go’ marry lyrical subjects of disappointment and frustration with melodic hooks. Always interesting, Burton’s songs often take unpredictable turns and provide nifty twists and catchy endings.
The album was recorded by longtime friend and associate Laurie Sinagra is distributed nationally through Green/MGM Distribution.
