Love Is My Velocity

Josh Fontaine and Joe Bludge Split 7″

LIMV’s third split single was launched at Rechabites Hall in 2007 and features Perth troubadours Josh Fontaine and Joe Bludge.

With The Bank Holidays as his backing band, Fontaine’s Holidayz takes his sometimes love-lorn, sometimes slap-happy acoustic pop into a greater, star bursting realm, winning the 2007 WAM Song of the Year and Best Pop Song in the process.

Bludge similarly brought in a team of ringers to support Hard on a Man. New Rules for Boats bassist Ben Golby takes up pick on lead banjo while band mates Miranda and Sean Pollard sing back up vocals with Adam Said Galore frontman Andrew Ryan. Bludge’s Painkillers partner James Baker plays drums, and Doug May from Abbe May’s Rockin’ Pneumonia, Steve Elkins from Futurist and Kill Devil Hills bassist Justin Castley also lend their arms to the gumbo.

Bludge has gone on to release a number of albums with his band The Painkillers and Josh Fontaine is due to release his debut LP with his new band 6s & 7s on Love Is My Velocity in mid 2010.

This 7″ single is one of our personal favourites and copies are still available in the store or at a number of independent record stores in Perth and Melbourne.
