Following in the wake of the success of The Love is My Velocity Cookbook, First Page is the latest cross-platform publication from Love is My Velocity to canvas the cream of Perth’s talented young creatives. Conceived and edited by Jessyca Hutchens and Matthew Giles, the book displays the work of 22 artist/writers who combine text and image in their practice.

The works range from illustration, photography, prose, painting, non-fiction, micro fiction, sculpture and poetry by contributors who cross all levels of experience – from first time practitioners to recent art school graduates to professional writers and nationally-acclaimed luminaries.

The First Page exhibition and book launch occurred on August 2, 2008 at The Bakery Artrage Complex, Northbridge. The launch also featured performances from the Ghost of 29 Megacycles, Bone, Josh Fontaine, Hooper’s Store, Magic Window and Fall Electric. The exhibition of original artworks from the book will ran from August 2 until August 17 2008 at the Breadbox Gallery, The Bakery.
