Joe Bludge and Josh Fontaine: RELEASE
For our third split single, we have teamed up Perth troubadours Josh Fontaine and Joe Bludge. It's always a pleasure to see both fine men play, and anyone who was at the launch of this single at the Rechabites Hall in March will attest to their fine skills.
Joined by the Bank Holidays as backing band on his long time live favourite, Holidayz, Fontaine has taken his sometimes love-lorn, sometimes slap-happy acoustic pop into a greater, star bursting realm that gives us the same kind of joy as a Flaming Lips live show or a Daniel Johnston chorus.
Bludge has similarly brought in a team of ringers to support his song, the donkey-riding musical tasting plate Hard on a Man. New Rules for Boats bassist Ben Golby takes up pick on the lead banjo and his vocalist band mates Miranda and Sean Pollard sing back up, as does Fall Electric and Adam Said Galore frontman Andrew Ryan. Bludge's Painkillers partner and WAM Hall of Famer James Baker plays on drums and Doug May from the Fuzz and Abbe May's Rockin' Pneumonia, Steve Elkins from Futurist and Kill Devil Hills bassist Justin Castley also lend their arms to the gumbo.
Out now! And again, all copies come with a free download.
